i know eztv experimented with hd .mkv files a while ago, and i am just wondering if there is any way that the new season of 24 will be released by eztv in this quality. i know i can just watch it on tv, but i would like it to archive. |

it depends on the popularity. we had one prison break episode like this right? if resources are enough, you never know |

ya, it was a lost ep. 24 is one of the most popular tv shows, and i hope that it happens. |

24 is very popular, and i think that could be a reason why it will not work. i noticed with the episodes of 24 already released they are very slow to download. this could because for many people who download it, it is the only show they download. these type of people will not fully understand the bittorrent model and will not care about seeding, and so the huge files necessary would be very slow to transfer |

ya, but with the resources available to eztv, these download speeds could be greatly enhanced. i think that most people who download just to "show that they download" also seed, so more people can see the show and have it gain more popularity. |

actually, not many people have a 1080 tv, you might think a lot of people do but they only have 1080i instead of 1080p - only 108p is really full hd tests show that given a choice between 720p and 1080i the better choice is 720p, overall mathematically this gives better picture than 1080i... so 720p is nice for now, only really high end plasma's and lcd's are doing full 1080p today! http://editorials.teamxbox.com/xbox/1544/the-facts-and-fiction-of-1080p/p1 g |

anyone with a monitor bigger than 17" can enjoy 720p in full resolution. and it will def be noticably better than hr.hdtv at 20" or greater. |

...but you can't tell the difference between 720p and 1080p unless your tv is larger than 60". |

i guess so cause it played well on my pm 1.6g notebook and in fact 720p.mkv video uses almost the same way to coding the video part as 720p.mov file |
