heads up folks, on vlc (and probably everything else) the sound goes seriously out of sinc between 33.37 and roughly 36.2. so this is broken. only three minutes or so but perhaps wait for proper if you want a clean cut |

most creators of downloadable content produce the best quality based on the best technology, irrespective of what platform you use. rightly so of course, especially given that televisions are old tech. i'm not a television user so folks like me like the fact the we can see the pores on someones face. times change. and we, who don't use old tech, expect you to catch up, or not, whenever. |

quote from bakalite "and we, who don't use old tech, expect you to catch up, or not, whenever." it might help if people like you who have access to the latest equipment etc. gave consideration to people who live in parts of the world not so lucky as you. when a 300mb download can take between 3 and 6 hours, hopefully without crashing out, is what we can achieve then, only seeing 1 or 2 or 3 gb files available is, to say the least, frustrating. please don't take what i have said as trying to be critical of you. just pointing out there is a reason why smaller files are requested (needed) sometimes. |

your right tacarr, my apologies. on reading my previous post it appears rude even to me. i didn't mean to offend. incidentally my connection charges for uploading as well, so i'm very aware of the various technical difficulties, poor network up time not withstanding. and yes i do try and keep up with contemporary tech. mkv or indeed mp4 addresses this, at least for me. the file size is roughly 30% smaller for the same or better quality over xvid (avi). my current gripe is that the scene has not yet conformed to a good quality standard yet, so i'm currently downloading mp4's of varying size and quality. i believe this will sort itself out soon and actually appears to be doing that fairly rapidly. |
