just wondering how much other ppl share the files they download?

i share 200%, even though the default on utorrent is 150%.

well, because i live in germany most of the releases come out in the middle of
the night here. so when i got home from college most times i shared allready 300
or 400% thx to my 1mbit u/l.

some files i share more than others, if i have a lot downloading and uploading
at the same time, i'll remove most of the uploading torrents to free up
bandwidth for the downloads, this is because i only have 40kb/s upload. i'm
still uploading when doing this, but it means some files (on busy days) might
only get .5 when others (like the 3 uploading right now) get 5.9 and 5.4 and
2.3 and they will be uploading all day.

my average upload for the last 7 days is 2.93gb a day, with average download
being 1.83gb giving me a 1.6 for the week.

i've only got a paltry 256kbit upstream on my adsl, so seeding to a decent
ratio is always a struggle.

on private trackers i usually aim for 1.5, to give me a bit of a `buffer` to
still enable grabbing things with a high seeder:leech ratio.

this means public tracked stuff suffers - looking at client stats i achieve an
average of about 0.65

where can i see the percentage of my shares?

as for the topic question i usually leave it sharing at ~ 30kb/s for 3 to 5
hours. is that good?

depends on your client.

in utorrent, its in help i believe and azereus has it as a stat 0n the bottum
line of the app.

it took me a while t figure out how to automatically stop the feed in azereus,
but in utorrent it is pretty simple.

just as long as you share, i guess that all that matters.

well, i have a ratio of 4.07 at demonoid. i usually leave something running
for at least x2 and sometimes x7. i know the frustration with too few seeders
and i have a great connection.

depends on the torrent. i usually share up to 2-3 if i can't keep the downloaded
files on my pc too long but i'll seed longer if i have space and i never leave a
torrent with only one seed or less.

i use bitcomet.

i have utorrent set up to automatically download my favorite shows, and before i
even get back to my computer most things have shared between 1000% and 2500%
(10-25x.)

so long as you can avoid the packet shaping (thank you protocol encryption) my
college's internet connection is stupidly fast. usually somewhere in the
neighborhood of 600kb/s-1mb/s download and 1-2mb/s upload. do note that the big
b in mb/kb is no mistake.

i reset utorrent's default share percentage to 20000% (200x) but only one file
has reached that, and only then because i wanted to increase my share ratio on
demonoid.

so i usually end up letting them go until the seed/leach ratio is more than 1,
or until i decide that something else needs the upload speed more. for example i
let heroes s01e17 720p hdtv x264-ctu go until i had reached a percentage of
5930% (59.3x) because i know that these torrents require a lot of resources from
eztv.

i have my client set up to stop when i get 100% complete. my upload is basically
non-existent so im getting about 0.2 on most torrents
