i wrote last week about utorrent not picking up all the shows in my feeds.(i have all three recommended). it never picked up gilmore girls and one or two others. by wednesday it seemed to be picking up all my shows again. i quit worrying about it. all week it ran great. then....tuesday comes around again and i should be getting gilmore girls, how i met your mother, the hills, and american idol. all i got was american idol. i don't understand. they are all set up in the filter the exact same way. i don't have anything in the "not" section. the tvrss feed has the shows listed that i want. (well, i don't remember if it had the hills on it yet). i click on reload and nothing happens. i don't know what else to try. please help if you can. thanks. |

ok - had a quick look. couple of possible issues. 1) the common factor between the most recent gilmore girls & how i met your mother is that they are both vtv releases, rather than eztv directly. this would pose a problem for the example bt-chat feed, because it only lists "primary" eztv releases, but not vtv ones that are mirrored "secondarily" here on the eztv site. 2) this would mean that the only rss source for those shows would have been tvrss. now - there are two variants of the tvrss feed for eztv listed eps (inclusive of eztv direct & vtv mirrored releases) first one (the one used in the example) is:- http://tvrss.net/feed/eztv/  it looks like this sometimes creates problems for the utorrent inbuilt show name parser. e.g. it detects the show name as "gilmore girls - notv]" it would therefore consider this as a different show from, say, "gilmore girls - xor]" or, indeed, just "gilmore girls" and keep separate "smart ep. filter" latest episode number tallies for them. the tvrss guys have noticed this, and to solve the problem have created a separate feed that uses an older style of rss layout. it's less pretty for human readable purposes, but much friendlier to automated parsers:- http://tvrss.net/feed/legacy/eztv/ switch to that in utorrent and it should do the trick. |
