the regular 350mb rips have been tragic lately, i suspect that is why the hr
versions are coming out first, the regular rip may still come out later today,
but if it's like the rest your far better off with the 700mb hr version...

winofiend - the sarcasm is growing on me...

hi i have been downloading from orenji and he says that we are up to episode 20
and i saw that episode 14 came out at the same time so i figures that this must
be the same as orenjis but now i see episode 15 has come out so can someone tell
me if this is a new episode or not? or what the episode is about cause i have
downloaded ep20 thanks for your help

just finished watching this rip, it's not bad, seems to be a few lines etc
during some scenes, like glitching on the broadcast, nothing major, but not as
good as some past rips because of it.

having now switched from 350mb to 700mb hr rips, i did not see the 'huge' jump
in pic quality that i was expecting, it is better, heaps better during the
darker scenes, but i now realise the heavy grain effect used in the show must
wreck havoc with the compression process.

i always noticed the grain when it was on tv here, it gives the show kind of a
raw or dark look, but that same look seems to get amplified when it's
compressed into xvid format.
maybe i need to tweak some settings in xbmc, as it looks clearer on my pc than
it does on my tv, which is different to other rips which often look better on
my tv.

i really hope you're kidding, but just in case you're not:

the orenji episodes were captured when the show first aired on the sci fi
channel in the us several weeks ago. those were standard definition, since sci
fi does not broadcast in hd. the new episodes which you see appearing now are
high definition versions of the exact same episodes, which are now airing on sky
one in the uk. so, if you have already seen the orenji version, and you are
happy with that, there is no need to download it again, unless you want to keep
the hd version for posterity.

drako, if you want a recap of an episode, try tv.com. let's try to avoid
spoilers, as some people have been waiting for these hdtv rips before catching
up with bsg.

on another note, would anyone be interested in letting me know if sfm did 350mb
encodes for ep12-14? i'm definitely not a fan of bia, so i'd like to replace
those if possible. i'd appreciate a pm if url's are not permissible. thanks in
advance.
