i think russel fat davis is leaving (thank-god) and tennant also. i don't think
they'd say he has confirmed it unless he had. as for new companion and martha
becoming a recurring... hmm at the end of season 3 it sure as hell seemed that
way... it also said that she won't be in the xmas special at all, which makes
sense considering she isn't at the end of the s3 finale so i doubt the doctor
will go back just to get her instead of just getting on with it. i think that
article can be trusted completely.
and if you are wondering why i'm glad fat davis is leaving, its because i think
he's turned doctor who into a childrens show. don't believe me - note how the
bbc were going to delay an episode one week if a soccer match ran long because
they didn't want to air it when children would be in bed. plus scarecrows! how
old do they think we are? scarecrows!!! what adult is scared of damn scarecrows?
christ.
hope whoever they bring in to replace him makes it more mature and adult again.
even the first season was more mature than s2 and s3.
as for captain jack being the face of boe - i'll give em credit, thats freakin
awesome. captain jack is an awesome character so its a superb thing to do with
the character.
my rant is over - despite feeling sad that tennant will be leaving, i look
forward to season five when we have a new doctor and a new ep!

uh, you realize that doctor who was a children's show, yes? the mentality of
what's considered acceptable for children's programming has certainly changed,
but the original/classic series were most certainly geared towards children
(children being a gamut range from 5-16). every single member of the original
production staff, as well as bbc officials have all clearly said so (primarily
due to ignorance in believing a sci-fi show of that nature could only appeal to
children). whether the original series 'look' like they're geared towards a
child demographic today is utterly irrelevant, the show's creators have all
stated as such.
loudsavlon is absolutely correct, doctor who has always been geared towards
children. whether they were the actual resultant demographic or not is irrelevant.
i'm glad davies is gone as well though. hopefully now the show will lose the
retarded rampant gay themes and get back to being non-lifestyle denominational.

agreed. i've not seen a lot of the classic series, so i don't care what people
are saying - it definately gives off a more mature feel than the new series.
season one of the new series was definately along the level of the classic
series in maturity - but sadly since tennant took over, its been increasingly
childish. the final four episodes of season 3 i enjoyed - i enjoyed 1 or 2
episodes of the first half of s3 - i enjoyed a lot of season 2 (love & monsters
is dead to me). but apart from that, too childish. i'm 16 and i think its too
childish - so what are the 40 year olds thinking? and the 50-60 year olds who
watched the classic series?
tennant is a great doctor - the best. but fat davis is shite at writing maturer
stories.
