hi all! i can\'t get the forum search function to work. when i click on \"search\" the page just refreshes. this sucks because i wanted to look for info about posting urls in the canadian tv news thread before starting a thread about it. anyway, i\'m running firefox 2.0.0.4 on win xp pro, sp2 (updated), noscript with java allowed for eztvefnet. any help would be appreciated. thank you all in advance! |

for the time being you could use google. for example, your search string would be: canadian tv shows site:www.eztvefnet.org/  inurl:forum=view_threadedit: inurl:form=view_thread would be more appropriate on second thoughts, as to search within all the threads listed. |

google only has 334 of the forum pages logged (search site:www.eztvefnet.org/ inurl:forum=view_thread to see them all) so it's not the most thorough search option, however i think it will suffice until a search feature is implemented. the above search string, with the addition of the parameters you're searching, will search within the threads listed, whereas searching inside the url for forum=index will search the topic titles, eg. 24 season 6 site:www.eztvefnet.org/ inurl:forum=index

wow guys, thanks for the quick replies! and bauer, it's nice to hear of others knowing about google hacking. there's enough material out there! though i didn't know about "inurl:forum=view". thanks for the tip and yes that will do fine for now! no worries aydin, i just wanted to be considerate toward the forum. thank you for your reply and this site rocks anyway! i hear you jayeff. i'm tech support with lenovo so it's just habit. as to what started this, whether i can post urls in the canadian tv news thread, where should i pose the question please? once again guys thanks for the replies. they were quick, on topic, to the point and smart! like i said, this place rocks! |
