if you have a hdmi port on your graphics card, simply hook it straight up and
look into dual-screen configuration, assuming your projector/tv is in the same room.

i use an nvidia card and had to rollback my drivers to a much earlier version to
get hdtv support, so be careful of that too.

if your graphics card doesn't have a hdmi port, check for a suitable cable
convertor. most modern graphics cards come with dvi and you can pick up a
hdmi->dvi convertor for about

simple, plug pc to tv. turn off any overscanning or adjust drivers to underscan
right so nothing it cut off. use media player of choice.
even vga (dsub) works can do hd resolutions, but often tv's dont let the vga
port go that high.

you can use compenent, vga (if the res goes high enough), dvi or hdmi...
basically what ever works (list in order from worst to best)

i convert the files to mp4 and stream them or copy them to a hard drive and play
them from my xbox 360.

i use an original xbox (softmodded) hooked up to my router, and stream my
downloads by just sharing the folders on my pc. the latest xbmc can play any
downloaded video files and has all the codecs.

you can get a component video or vga cable for the xbox to get hd and it has
optical for your surround sound needs.

you can buy an xbox second hand for about
