i don't really have a favorite, and while i appreciate the work they all do, i
have to say notv is by far my least favorite. every time i see a
release by them for a show i want i cringe, knowing that there may be a
problem or an incomplete cap.

anyone else care to chime in?

no, any capture is better than no captures, so i'm not about to start
complaining about people who provide the service for nothing.

anyone remember pap? :cringe:

fqm is my favorite, they seem to have the best record for non nuked files.
lol is great, when they don't hurry
xor is fine, when they take more time than lol
yestv - no problems, they release what others wont.
megatron - 1 release, and they are in my tops
notv are improving alot, lets see how it holds up this fall
caph - don't see too much of them...seem to station in canada
kyr - showtime releases are awesome.

fqm are probably my favourite, quality releases which arent rushed for the sake of the race, but lol and
xor are both very good and sfm too although they only release a limited number of shows. again caph are
one of my least favourites with their various shortcuts all for the sake of racing, oh and yea, river for the
uk stuff

heh never ceases to amaze me how people can complain about something that is
totally free and entirely illegal maybe you should just be happy that any of
these groups exist.

most of us are grateful, but everyone complains about something. i'm sure
someone has gotten a holiday gift, and complained about it. or someone has
gotten a free rental only to complain about the store and such.

free does not mean junk is acceptable. thats why they have all the scene rules
tdk2k5, 720p tv x264 rules, and so on...

as for entirely illegal, not for tv stuff in usa
check out usc title 17, section 107: limitations of exclusive rights: fair use
its ok as long as its for non profit use and non screening use
the dcma letters are a joke (like income tax) and they just do it cause they
want you to see there ads on tv

lol. when i started this post i was just curious. but as an american, i
reserve the right, nay the freedom, to complain to my heart's conent. hahaha

ps. i also started this because someone complained the psych-out was left off
the "psych" cap

it is acceptable.

no one's forcing you to download it.

hmmm i'm of the opinion that something (a.k.a. junk) is better than nothing at
all. surely anything/everything is acceptable when you get it for free? expect
nothing... and then everything you get for free is just an added bonus.. if what
you happen to get for free is also of good quality, then you should have one very
large smile on your face.

the scene rules don't apply to torrent sites. people in the scene are not
getting this stuff for free! they are giving something back to the scene, it is
a mutual relationship and a trading process. as such they can make certain
requests on quality.. no trade is being made here, the scene rules do not apply.

anyway i think this topic may have already been discussed to death.

well the only files on this site are scene releases so scene rules are followed
on them... (k4rm4 isn't scene but he knows how to encode good too)
