hi all just a quick question about peerguardian.

today i have done an update and the ip block list went from (974813852) to a
very low (238017718) i have never seen it so low before and i have all the
options ticked (ads) + (educational) + (government) + (p2p) + (spyware).

so by the look of the new update i\'m not as well protected as i was before.
has anybody else noticed this do you think it\'s just an error on their part
if
so will it be safe to d/l using the peerguardian anybody else have another ip
filter to use with (utorrent) ect.

thanks for your time.

bye for now (si)(uk) :-)

go to the lists folder located in your peerguardian folder (usually c:/program
files/peerguardian2/lists) and delete all the files in it, then redo the update.

this happens from time to time, although i don't know why.

i seem to recall that default install has logging enabled. i tell you, the log
file gets massive, i mean hundreds of mb. there is a clear log facility, use it
every so often.

i suggest you disable logging of allowed connections, they are the main reason
it gets to be so big.

thanks guy's.

i'll give what you say a go with the peerguardian del the block list and try
again.

i have been trying to get protowall 2 & blocklist manager going alltho the
protowall 2 works i'm not sure how to use the blocklist manager and convert
the list from bluetack to both peerguardian and protowall.

that's going to be a lot of reading if i want to get them going i think.

i do like peerguardian as it's simple to keep updated every now and again i
have a little problem with the update not d/l i have never had the list
updated with so little ip's blocked and 2 of the list files have 0kb empty.

so as you said before i will del the list and re-update.

thanks for your time everyone.
bye for now (si)(uk) :-)
