i agree completely. it's that side of it that makes me cringe, and therefore
refuse to watch the shows. eg. the biggest loser. the way in which these
people are treated is horrendous. they are ridiculed mercilessly. these
people should be applauded for having the guts to do something about their
weight problem, not made fun of.
but it's all a ratings grab. anything to draw in an audience. "let's make fun
of the fat guy, smart guy, chick that can't sing, etc."
but as said before, different horses for different courses.
