okay, well the whole point is that the uni doesn't want to file-sharing so it's very unlikely that asking them will do any good. i was just wondering if there was something i could do on my mac that would bypass the firewall. someone told me that i should port-forward but i have no idea if that's helpful. any real suggestions would be appreciated. i've been using eztv for the past year off-campus and i can't believe i'll have to go a year without it. thanks. |

first off you need to know what ports your uni hasn't blocked > hxxps://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2 once you know what ports you can use, just set your torrent client to only use that port. iv done this at uni and sometimes had to use really bad ports like 80 or something, yet still get awesome download speed (300kb/s at uni is better than the 50kb/s i get at home). let us know how it goes... quic |

the firewall is most likely filtering out .torrent downloads. so unless you can get somebody to rename the torrents you want to .txt or zip them up and send them to you, the above probably won't do you any good. |

here we go run port scanner you could hack the network and become an admin (they won't know) google it not too complex but if someone a teacher saw u, well your stuffed anyway like i said run port scanner, use whats open, dont use azurues, it wont work, use utorrent as your client you have to encrypt the incoming data, go to options and enable. ur done .) |

last thing just remembered, download cain and abel (it's free) cain & abel has been developed in the hope that it will be useful for network administrators, teachers, security consultants/professionals, forensic staff, security software vendors, professional penetration tester and everyone else that plans to use it for ethical reasons. so be a good boy.......ha! |
