off the top of my head, my reasons were simple:

1. this is a meta news story, not *the* news story, but about the fact that the
story exists.

2. the nyt link is included ( and tested, no registration needed ), how hard is
it to follow the included link, really?

3. it is a huge article.

4. not everyone cares about the full article

5. it is plagiarism of a source i highly respect ( if not love ). i'm posting
news from me, not from the nytimes.

6. this is the internet not a clipping service, hypertext links are sort of
fundamental.
