i totally get that these news stories are just being passed on from other
mainstream sources, (and the good people here didn't write them nor necessarily
endorse them) but really - can't tv audiences see them for the amptp issued
propaganda that they are? almost every 'story' i've read from mainstream
sources, including variety, are just repeating press releases by the amptp which
seek to both convince the public the writers are in the wrong, and convince the
writers that their leadership isn't working in their best interests. this
article is a good example, as are all the news stories about the poor, cash
strapped networks canceling the multi-million dollar pilot deals with writers.
for a while, nikki finke was doing a great job of reporting from the trenches of
the writer's strike, but lately she's been under the weather and has not been
posting as frequently.
