i recently watched all of the episodes of da vinci's inquest, capped from some
canadian cbc affiliate station.
they would often run bumper ads at the end for televised arena paint ball.
given that the us television industry is in a blind panic with no dramas to
run for a while and that they are adapting and green lighting any old insane
reality/gameshow/sportscast shit this might not be so far from the truth
