when you can use an rss feed to automatically download a better quality
version of a show that you can buy on itunes, with no time constraints or
\'rent\', why not just bt it?

bbcamerica obviously got it as they are showing torchwood the saturday after it
airs in the u.k.. i honestly haven\'t watched it there, i\'ll admit, so i don\'t
know if there is any editing.

sci-fi...well there\'s another story. those idiots will find a way to get 3
seasons out of the last 20 episodes of bsg.

ive never posted before, but thought this would be a good time.

i think they are entirely correct. i do not regard downloading a tv
show as stealing. i have dish network, 3 boxes, the full package. more often
than not i download a show because i do not wish to watch a show monday at 9:00,
or not at all. i see no difference between using tivo to tape a show and
downloading it to watch at my convenience.

that being said, i would also be more than happy to download a show
from a network, provided they utilized a system such as bittorent which allowed
a quick and easy download. i would be cool with commercials, watermarks,
possibly even a license.

i am not cool with having to be home on that day at this time to watch
a show i might or might not want to see. it is time for the networks to see we
live in a 24/7 world, and deal with it. these are the same people who decided
they could take two 18 run seasons of lost, and turn it into three seasons of 12
runs... obviously you have no idea what people want from a tv show, so dont
strech it out, listen to the people.

what worked 50 years ago will not work today, and as long as so called
\"pirates\" give me more of what i want than a network, i am sure you can
understand, i will continue to use the pirates service, and thank them for it.

why? because lots of people feel bad about breaking the law. and for what it's worth, itunes has no time
constraints, and for regular res rips, itunes definitely provides better and more consistent quality.

and in response to the actual article, or at least the following part,

if i paid $28 a month for hbo ( which of course i do not ), thats still $1 a
day/24 hours, 4.1 cents an hour, 2 cents for a half hour show. if they are
charging me by the hour, they are committing a crime as i do not watch hbo every
hour. i am not watching hbo every hour of every day, indeed i can not. a guy
must sleep sometimes. i think they know this...

if i choose to download entourage, then they need to deal with it, or sell it to
me and lose my subscription. i pay a monthly fee to watch all the 24 minute
shows they produce, with the gratuitous 6 minutes of hbo plugs. i am not paying
them to advertise themselves to me, i am paying them for the right to watch
their shows. if i tivo entourage, or download it, it should be the same to them
as long as they get their money every fourth friday.

well as someone from outside the usa i don't even get the option to pay a
subscription to see many of the us shows, and when they do reach british
shores its fairly shambolic. lost and prison break started out on free to air
broadcast but then a couple of seasons in they were snatched away by
satellite, where you are not only expected to subscribe but put up with ads as
well. dexter has finally made it to broadcast, two plus years after it was
shown in the usa. and as for shows like chuck, life, and burn notice, no uk
network has picked them up.
if it wasn't for eztv i'd have to watch some of the dross that passes for
commercial television over here, and that would just be cruel!
